Spread the Word - Landon

From Landon:

I recently listened to Ravi Zacharias sermon, “Why I Believe Jesus” and it was very influential in bringing me back to writing in this blog, I really recommend that you go watch it.

Today I want to talk about how covid is the perfect time to be sharing faith, because the time people look for answers the most is in grief. And there is a lot of that going around. But what is the best way to share the gospel? That is a question I find myself asking a lot.

I think that there are two ways to do it: just going for it or building relationships within your community. Even though these are almost exact opposites, I think that they both play very important roles. Think about it, sometimes you aren’t going to be able to build a strong relationship. So you just need to throw it out there. Although this isn’t a very usual way of doing it, being able to create the universe with just your mouth is unusual. My way of seeing it is that God can work wonders and in strange ways. Sometimes you just have to break the ice for someone. You can just flat out tell them and then build your relationship with them, this is also a great way to grow within the Gospel with each other.

The way I favor more though, is to build relationships, and then share the gospel. I’ve just always thought about how much more impactful something is when it comes from someone who you really care about. At least I think this way. So, if you want to build a relationship with someone, how do you do it? One of the best ways to build relationships is to show that you care about their interests. Think about how much God cares about your interests, that’s a lot. How does it make you feel that he cares about your interests? It makes me feel pretty darn good. The Bible talks about how you should do your best to follow in Jesus’s footsteps, he was a great example. So you should show that you care about others interests! This will help you build that strong relationship that you need.

Obviously there are more ways to spread the Gospel, but these are the two that I have found easiest. So go out there and spread the word!
